Am Can Ch Paquestone's Trendsetter Tobias
Raymond R. Goldstone
Paquestone Great Danes were begun in the early 1980's by my partner Ray Paquette (deceased) and myself. Through the years, we worked with a number of people to build and maintain a quality breeding program to produce sound and correct Great Danes with good temperaments. Throughout the years, I have taken care to test for inherited diseases and use only healthy breeding stock.
I am located in the south Surrey area of British Columbia (16264 - 18th Avenue, Surrey, BC V3S 9N2) , just outside Vancouver and about 5 minutes north of Blaine, Washington where the I5 crosses the Canadian border. I am about 30 minutes from Vancouver International Airport, 30 minutes from Blaine, Washington airport and about 2-1/2 hours from Seattle-Tacoma Airport.
I have a small acreage with room for the Danes to run, and a small kennel building although all of my dogs are house dogs who sleep in the kitchen or in my bedroom and watch TV with me on the couch.
Looking for a Puppy? Upcoming breeding plans are outlined on the Pupppy Plan page. Please take a look and if you are interested, read my puppy placement guidelines and follow the steps outlined, including filling out the questionaire. Puppies are guaranteed for one year to be free from genetic defects, with a written contract.
I have the dogs to look after, club commitments and run a small business so I do not have to time to respond to mass enquiries. I am only prepared to place my puppies with owners who demonstrate a strong interest and capacity to provide a lifetime commitment to one of these special dogs.
I normally breed only one litter per year, sometimes not even that. Occasionally there are larger litters and more puppies available. I expect the prospective purchaser to make the effort, send me background information through the questionaire and then make the telephone calls to discuss potential placements. If you follow all of these steps and do not hear from me, please telephone and we can talk directly about your interests.
Ray Paquette's Story. Ray was a very outgoing and friendly individual who was the heart of the Western Great Dane Club of B.C. for a number of years. He was always interested in encouraging new members, bringing out club members for events and willing to take the time to hold offices, including President. The club still holds its annual Specialty on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, where a memorial tree was planted in his honor.
Sandra Duncan's Story Sandra worked very closely with me (and previously with Ray Paquette as well) in breeding, training and showing Paquestone dogs. Sandra was an excellent handler, winning Specialty Best of Breed, finishing American and Canadian Champions and she raised mulitple litters with me. Sandra was a key member of the Western Great Dane Club of B.C., always working hard and filling various offices including President. Most importantly, Sandra was a warm hearted and good person, as willing to come over evenings and tape puppy ears as to handle a top Special. Her sudden death in August 2003 at such a young age was a big loss. She is sadly missed.
