Midas is growing up fast and made his U.S. debut at the GDCA National Specialty, earning 3rd in a large Futurity 6-9 mo male class. He came home to Lower Mainland shows October 29 to earn Winners, Best of Winners and Best of Breed over 3 Specials (2 BIS dogs), Best Puppy in Group and even pulled in the adult Group under Dr. G. Bodegard of Sweden for his first 4 points. The next day he earned 3 more points, Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Breed.
2006 record:
Midas hit the Willamette Valley GDC Specialty weekend in Oregon, January 2006. Thursday he wins 1st in his Sweepstakes class and his Bred By Exhibitor class in the Specialty. Friday, in the All Breed show, he takes Reserve Winners dog under judge Steven Hubell, as well as Best of Opposite Sex in the 2nd Specialty. Saturday, he hits his stride and takes Winners Dog and Best of Winners under judge Christine Hubell, and earns his first 4 point major at 11 months of age.
Midas returned to the Canadian ring at home in B.C. and Friday, January 27, 2006 and started the weekend with a Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Show (pictured above) win for 2 more points and finishes his Canadian Championship with another Best of Breed/Best Puppy on the Saturday. On Sunday, he earned another Best of Breed/Best Puppy to finish off a nice weekend.
Midas earned his 2nd 4 point U.S. major at the Black Mountain K C of Nevada - Judge: Dr. Robert Berdt - Friday April 07, 2006. He was also Best In Sweeps @ the Great Dane Club of Las Vegas - Judge Mr. Steven Shhorr. On the same weekend, Midas was awaded a major reserve @ Siler State KC under Mrs. Nancy Liebes and overall, won the BBE Class four of the five shows as well as Best Bred By Exhibitor in breed on Saturday April 8th und Mrs. Liebes.
Midas will continue to be shown in Canada and the U.S. through 2006 and will also be competing in Tracking. Midas is co-owned with Barb Rose and Laureen Kinney.
